Hello Everyone!
What a busy day yesterday was! After landing in Singapore at 6:40, our importer Mr. Goh and I headed out for a traditional Singapore breakfast of spare rib soup and rice. The rice here tastes so different than the rice back in Japan, I was really surprised.
Next we went to our importers headquarters for a meeting. It was wonderful to finally meet the people who I have been sending emails to this past year!
After the meeting we headed out for a Singapore’s famous Chicken Rice for lunch. It was so delicious!
After lunch it was time to meet some clients. We first stopped at Cavemen, a cheese and aged meat bar and restaurant. The owner there really loves Hideyoshi Junmai Daiginjo! Next we went to the very famous Tatsuya restaurant at the Goodwood Park Hotel. There I met the senior sushi chef, Sasaki Kazuyuki-San. Guess where he is from? Akita! He was so happy to meet another Akitan, and he promised to keep recommending Hideyoshi sakes to guests of the restaurant.
Last, it was time to host an event at the Japanese Steak restaurant Kabuke for some of Singapore’s most diehard sake fans. There we met folks from Singapore Airlines Dentsu and more! The favorite of the night was Junmai Daiginjo.
I got back to the hotel at around 10:00 and went right to sleep.
The Japan Food Expo starts from today! Wish me luck!
