Hello, everybody!
Let me introduce myself. My name is David Berger, I hail from Germany and I have joined the office-team at Hideyoshi’s brewery on the first of this month.
My wife of thirteen years and I moved back to Akita Prefecture to live with my father-in-law in August this year. After being vaccinated in Germany, we quarantined for two weeks before coming here.
As our home is in the countryside, I recently took part in harvesting the rice from the paddies cultivated by my father-in-law.
It was gratifying to be able to apply myself physically, surrounded by splendid nature in the gorgeous fall weather.
Speaking of rice, there are plenty of Japanese dishes I’m a fan of, among many others sushi, wild mountain vegetables and horumonyaki, a dish made with offal.
Having had an interest in sake from the time I still lived in Germany, I regularly expanded my horizons, trying out various sakes.
A short while ago, when having a tipple of our very own Hyakuden Junmai Daiginjo, I was wowed by its fruitiness and smoothness.
I am glad and honored to have entered this brewery that, with a history of over 330 years, still puts a focus on innovation.
My goal is to promote Hideyoshi’s name around the globe and to help share our delicious offerings with everyone with an appreciation for excellent sake, be it newcomers or long-time aficionados!
