Hideyoshi is happy to announce we were able to win four prizes at Spain’s CINVE 2021 (Concurso International de Vinos y Espirituosos / International Wines & Spirits Contest) in the “International Sake and Shochu” category.
Grand Gold Prizes were awarded to both our Junmai Daiginjo (winner of the Gold Trophy at the International Wine Challenge 2019) and to the Junmai Ginjo Shosei. Gold was awarded to Ichihozumi, while Silver was given to Hyakuden. These are both Junmai Daiginjo, each produced using one new breed of sake-rice developed here in Akita Prefecture.
We are especially pleased as this was the first time for us to enter the contest and seeing that we were able to receive two out of only 13 Grand Gold Prizes presented.
Winter is approaching and the toji (master brewer) and his team of kurabito are scheduled to arrive on the 15th of this month. Our brewery will become very lively once again.
COVID-19 infection numbers are subsiding and requests to visit the brewery from Japanese tourists are on the increase again. Adjusting to the new situation, we are looking forward to expanding this branch of our business once more, relying on vaccination certifications and PCR-tests.
We cannot wait to welcome back our international visitors once the government sees fit to re-open Japan’s borders to tourism!
