We at Hideyoshi are thrilled to announce that once again SHU (秀) was awarded the Grand Gold Prize at this year’s National Heated Sake Contest in the “Affordable Lukewarm Sake (Nurukan)” category, marking the second year in a row for us to receive this accolade. The Nurukan in this contest is judged at a serving temperature of 45°C (113°F). Hideyoshi’s TAIKŌSEN (太閤撰) took the Gold Prize in the “Affordable Hot Sake (Atsukan)” category. The Atsukan was served at 55°C (131°F).
As the leaves have started to change color and winter isn’t far away, it’s the perfect time to savor the joys of lukewarm and hot sake.
SHU enjoys an excellent reputation in the region. People come to us at events just to tell us how delighted they are with the taste of this sake we proudly produce. The head of our brewery himself enjoys SHU as his evening tipple nearly every night. We like to think of this sake as the pay-off for our persistent efforts at perfecting our blending techniques.
